hey guys. i was wondering since i have to take my iPod to Apple because it wont charge, if they have to replace it would i be able to pay them some amount of money for them to give me a 2G 16 gig iPod touch referb? does Apple stores even sell referbs? i really need the extra memory and i really want the 2G but i dont have the 300 bucks. if they can do this, how much would it cost? and if they dont sell referbs how much would it cost to just get a new 2G 16 gig?

If you don't mind waiting till September there will the the annual refresh of all the iPods. But that might be too long away for you.

Apple doesn't do 'trade ups'. If you're covered by warranty then they will give you the same model iPod that you currently have, as that's all that the warranty allows them to do. If you want a 2G touch, the best way would be to get the replacement 1G, sell that, and then put that and your extra money towards the 2G.
