Hi,

I'm getting my Ibook G4 ready to sell. It's running Leopard, and I'd like to change the name of the computer and/or the name on the admin. account.

I read in a previous thread that reinstalling the OS can do one of these.... (Still not sure which.) But I don't want to lose any of the apps, as they're a big selling point for the computer.

Thanks!

Not if you do an "Archive and Install". Also I recommend using an external drive and running time machine, or download Super Duper and make a clone.

Under sharing in System Preferences you can change the name of the computer. You could just setup a new Admin account with the new name also in System Preferences.

I would think you would want to delete your user profile before you sell it anyway. Just to protect your personal info.
