HELP! I cant get .DS Store file off my desktop??!!

i drag and drop it into the trash, and then when i empty the trash bin, it pops back up in the same spot, right under the mac hd icon. I cannot figure this out! Pleez help meh

Do you have hidden files showing? If so, open terminal and paste this entire line:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool false; killall Finder

That's supposed to be there. .DS_store files are what lets the Finder remember how you had your folders arranged and how large the icons are. Every time you delete it, Finder creates a new one.

The problem is that you have hidden files showing. See above post.
