Like all things regardless if its a computer or a phone, most things can be changed or re-configured...I was just wondering if I can change my UDID on my iphone. I presume pre owned cell phone shops must do this when selling pre-owned iphones,...to prevent clashing issues when the new owner wants to instal apps that were previously installed from the last owner of the phone

The apps go on the iTunes account, not the UDID. And a UDID is well... Unique. A bit like an IMEI number.

Are you serious? Why have apple applied so much ball busting anti pirating and re-programing hurdles than there mac's...I know that iphone and the ipod saved there asses when it came to saving there company of over spending on an already large budget!...but for a phone?, I can normally find a way to get around most things, but not even "google" can find an answer in diving deep in re-programing or re-adjusting the iphone... especially when it comes to the UDID.. which apparently even NASA uses?????. I have never known anything like UDID that can cause so much problems. It's the first ever hurdle I know where everyone can not find a answer to...even the hackers.....scary!!!!

You're acting like you've been burned by Apple for not being able to change your UDID. It's not changable for a reason.

I see it as their version of an IMEI, something that identifies a phone to them and to others. I guess there is a way to change it, but no one has found it or sees any reason to change it so no one has even attempted it.

Good luck finding out how though.

I can't even imagine one legitimate reason why you would want to change it. There is a way, and it's simplicity is what makes it so beautiful.

They want to trick their iPhone into reinstalling and successfully running an app that had a trial period which has run out. This is at least their second topic on the matter.

Seriously man, give it up. If it's a trial app like you said it is then it must have a 'full' version. Just buy that, it'd be a lot less trouble especially considering, as other people said, you cannot change the UDID.
