Hey I'm hoping someone can please help me.

I can't get the "blue" dot to appear when using MAPS on my iphone....... NOW before someone posts a link or suggests searching, I have already and have tried the different suggestions. Everything from swithcing this off and that on to I think someone even suggested giving a "little tap"

I just can't get it to work whatsoever and its really starting to get on my wick!!!. I'm still under contract so if it comes to it then I'm going to have to go into O2 to get the phone sent away. (nearest apple store is 60miles)

Ayn suggestions would be great seems I want to make sure everything is running fine for 3.0 :)

Are you moving? Or are you stood there with your iPhone in your hand/or stationary in your car.

I've found that the iPhone picks up your position a lot more quickly when you are moving (usually in a car). Other than that I don't think I've ever seen it pick me up when I'm stood there not moving. (not like a robot!)

Have tried everything.

Stood Still, moved, moving, driving. left it out side in the garden.

Just about sick and tired of it and if the new OS is going to use location based services then I really want it working. Maybe I just go to O2 and kick off with them get them to "send it away for repair"

Unless someone can give me a contact number for Apple in the UK's customer service. PLZ

has it ever worked for you? Believe it or not it could be software related, it kind of doesn't work for me now, but I'm on a beta so I'm not worried. Try a restore before sending it in.

Well good luck, hopefully its not jailbroken when you send it too them and hopefully they will repair/replace for you without any problems.

Please update this thread when you get it returned to let us know the outcome.

You should take it in for replacement. Some GPS antennas have been reported to have been defective. If you've tried everything then it may be a hardware issue. Just be sure you can reproduce it for the genius. You ought to get a new phone.

iPhone 3G 2.2.1
I tried a lot of recommendations from Internet but none of them worked for me.
I had a feeling that the cause of my GPS failure was the probability that an application that uses GPS tracking may be the culprit.

I had applications such as,
Take me to my car
Around me
Urbanspoon
Free Wifi Finder

I removed the above applications and then did a "Reset All Settings"
Settings/General/Reset/Reset All Settings
Don't worry, the above will not delete any data or applications.

Since then my iPhone's GPS has been behaving itself.

Cheers
