Hi,
I'm looking into getting a lock for my powerbook when using it at work. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking at the Kensington Microsaver lock...

I got 8 microsavers, NIB, from ebay $20 shipped a couple months ago. It's for our office. Great for locking up laptops. It's very theft deterent. I mean who carries a lock cutter around? Mini torch? Check out ebay for best price. Retail of $40 is not worth it. Works for iBook, PB, and any laptop w/ the microsaver slot.

Do you base that on the fact that your powerbook has not yet been stolen?

I use my PB 17" every day at work and lock it using the Kensington MicroSaver. I have to say, since the guy in the office next to me had his Dell Inspiron ripped off while on lunch break a few months ago and my PB was still locked to my desk I certainly feel better having used the KMS - buy one.

Getting a lock is a great idea... I take my laptop to coffee shops fairly often and sometimes you want to get up and use the restroom, but you don't exactly feel like taking your laptop with you.... for this reason I recommend the Kensington *Retracktable* Microsaver.

This lock is conveinent to keep in your bag without a cable getting all tangled up with things, but still offers a fairly secure lock for your laptop.
