You can run virtualized applications in different spaces, but you can't run a completely different OS within a Space.

Well, you could maybe make it appear as though it were. You could do something like this with Parallels or VMware Fusion.

I had that setup earlier this evening. Windows desktop was in its own space, using Parallels.

Thats exactly what he was meaning, running visualization software. Speaking of spaces is it a popular feature? I tried to use it last week when I was editing video, it came in handy when I needed all the screen space possible for Premiere Pro. But when I was just doing web-surfing, music etc it didnt really do much good for me.
If you were to connect an external monitor, are you able to have one space on the external and another space on the MB screen? and are you able to switch it easy?
P.S sorry Im not trying to hijack the thread :p

I don't think that was what the OP was asking, but maybe I read it wrong or he wasn't clear. That's fine. Virtualized OSs can be run in different spaces.

No, the Space spans both monitors, so you just have a "larger" Space.

Woops I must have read it wrong. I take that back.
Sucks about that, it would be a pretty nifty feature to be able to set up multiple displays like that...
