Hi Im running my macbook pro attached to another screen. I know that I can go to display and move the title bar to the screen and have the application window move that way, but that isnt what I want. Is there a way to move JUST illustrator over including the entire workspace without moving my dock, icons, and menu bar?

Setup all your palettes exactly where you want them to be on the external, and then go to Window>Workspace>Save Workspace...

Here you can save however many different configurations you want. A setup using the external, and another one just using the MBP (for when you are on the road) is a good option. If you ever open Illustrator and things aren't just how you like them, a couple of clicks will fix it.
