Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could take a look at my site and tell me what you think.

First, I like your paintings. Nice style.
With respect to the Web site, it strikes me as a bit too minimal. With your painting, film and music interests/abilities, a homepage that encompasses these three elements might draw more interest and invite people to explore your site.

You should validate the site at http://validator.w3.org/. On the pages I checked, the only errors were that you don't have alt tags on all your images, so that shouldn't be hard to fix.

your site looks fine. now you can concentrate on your art. stay focused. go to art school. unless your energy and creativity is non-stop you will need school to keep you on track.

Why do you think I should go to Art School? Just wondering...

because you obviously seem interested in the arts and you have talent. i assumed its what your focus was. and if thats the case then you should pursue it. learn everything you can and apply it to your work. that way you'll be doing everything you can to succeed. i've seen many people with who had incredible talent and didn't do anything with it and now with they did.

Cody you are still young... don't make any decisions before you weigh ALL of your options. My advice is to go for the one thing that you are passionate about. Money shouldn't matter. What should matter is that it be something that you will enjoy doing for the rest of your life.
I want to compliment you on your video skills. I watched the "Judy" video and was quite impressed. The high school that I went to had one of the best graphics and video labs in the state of Minnesota (probably best out of a few other states as well), and I think your video was quality compared to a lot of stuff that comes out of there.
On to your original question about what people think of your site...
-It feels too hard-cut with the images and too centered. It is really not a good idea to have all of your text on a page centered. Usually centering text is saved for titles and headers, not bodies.
-Experiment with some layouts and pick one that fits best for navigation and ease of use for the site.
-Perhaps use boxes to hold different parts of the page, or maybe just one with a border all the way around.
In all honesty, the site looks like a first attempt at using GoLive or Dreamweaver, and that is okay. I feel that good web design skills really only come by doing it. And by that I mean doing it over and over and over until you get things right. Check out my site. This is the fourth design that my site has used this year, and right now I'm redesigning it again. Every time that I redo it, it gets better and looks more professional every time. You may want to get some input from Kurt Denison (posts his site in threads a lot here)... I'm sure that he will agree that the first design is always not very good. The second is a step in the right direction. The third time is usually not "the charm". It just keeps going on and on...
Good Luck, and keep workin at it!
