Has anyone figured out a way to disable speedstep in Windows 7? It's usually a BIOS option on PC's, but that's not exactly something we have ready access to on a Macbook Pro.
Just curious if there's some program that would enable you to disable it from within the windows OS. It's annoying as hell and completely unneeded as my laptop is always plugged in.

It's in the advanced power settings. Setting your computer to High Performance should keep the CPU at 100% all the time.

The BIOS setting on some PCs apparently sets the CPU to its
lowest speed, or so I've read. Also, beware: speedstep is used
to regulate heat. The last recourse is thermal shutdown, maybe
not what you want.
