The latest CDs I got were by Arashi and Tokio and I have a DVD on an early V6 concert.

Everything else is from the 1980s--Ohtaki Eiichi, Tokunaga Hideaki, Epo, etc.

I listen to japanese noise-rock liked the ruins, the boredoms, boris! and Melt Banana. Projects by Yoshimi P-we like OOIOO and her album with Yuka Honda (who also has an album that's pretty good). On John Zorn's Tzadik label (the "New Japan" stuff) I've picked up Limited Express (has gone?) and Dóusidz. While not typical japanese pop, I'm in love with the japanese instrumental rock band, mono (first release was also on Tzadik, then they were on Arena Rock and the new album will be on Temporary Residence). Then there's japanese music that's pretty out there that I love like Acid Mothers Temple or Sonic Dragolgo. I'm sure there's some other japanese music I really like.
