App Update notice

I have an App update notice and an App showing an update when I open the App Store on my 3G.
The issue is I have never used the App nor purchased it nor ever downloaded it before. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

I was thinking of just downloading it to see what happens and then deleting it.
Re-starting the phone does not get rid of the notice.

I''ve never had that happen. Have you tried tapping the Updates icon in the App Store application? I've had notices in the past of updates that weren't actually there, but those were for applications I actually did have. But then if I tapped the update icon, the notice normally cleared. I don't have any idea whether it would help in your case.

If the app is free, there would be no reason I can think of not to download it. If it's payware, though, only if you actually want it.

I tapped the icon and it refreshed and now it's gone.
