I just tried to restore my JB 2.2.1 iPhone 3G and now I'm stuck on the Steve Jobs cartoon boot image.
iTunes (8.1.1) isn't recognizing it and I can't restore or anything....
Please help me fix this!
Thanks

After numerous frantic attempts at getting iTunes to recognize my iPhone, it finally has, and restored properly.
I would help others with a solution however I'm not sure what exactly I did except for plug my iPhone in to my Mac and keep getting iTunes to recognize it.

You could always put it into DFU mode glad you got it working!

Use the DFU method-just like when you pwned your phone. Turn phone off, hold both buttons for 10 seconds, then release power button (I think, been a while since I have had to do it :O)

Hmm maybe DFU mode is what fixed it.
I know that I tried it but thought it wasn't recognized so I took it out of DFU mode. Hmm.
Thanks anyway, next time I know this is probably my best option. :)

sometimes it takes a couple tries
and switching of usb ports, sometimes even computers is necessary in some cases
i had to switch computers when i was downgrading my original iPhone from 2.0 to 1.1.4 (in order to unlock and sell)
