Fax with Panther connect to modem problem

Can anyone tell me how to connect to the modem to use the fax option under printing in Panther? I have a DSL modem and an internal Apple modem. I have a splitter from the phone line -1 line into each modem.On the internal modem I placed a DSL filter.

I have a splitter from the phone line -1 line into each modem.On the internal modem I placed a DSL filter.Why would you put a DSL filter on your internal modem? Remove it. You need DSL filters upstream of your DSL modem, not on your other lines. To use your internal modem, just plug an active RJ-11 phone plug into your Mac's modem port. Make sure that you choose your Internal Modem after your press the Fax... button in the Print dialog box.
