View Full Version : New Macbook 13" 2.26 or 2.54

Is there going to be a noticeable difference between the 2 cpus? I already have a 320GB 7200 RPM drive to put in. I was thinking to just order the 2.26 version and upgrade to 4GB ram ($90 from apple). Seeing as both models have the backlit keyboard and everything else is basically the same. So essentially i need to decide is $210 ($300 - 90 for ram) is worth it just for the cpu.

EDIT: Anyone know if the hard drive is as easy to change as the previous unibody. Not sure now with no removable battery.

Only get more CPU power if time is money for you. Sadly in most cases it can be boiled down to seconds of gain.

That is what I figured, while deep inside I want to spend the $ to get the latest model (the sickness in me :P) It seems to not make sense since everything else is on par. I just really want to make sure i can upgrade the HD myself.
