yea thats the one.. in my opinion its much more elegant than the tacky leopard one..

Although it does look like the one they showed off, I still don't think its the right one. It looked more spacey, I'll try to find a picture of it.

The wallpaper posted from Twitter is very close to the one demoed but it certainly is not the same. Perhaps an alpha version of the wall?

The sharp line jutting down the right hand side of the Twitter post is not present in the WWDC wall. Also, the dimensions are incorrect. As most know, a standard Apple wall in 2560x1600.

Adjusting the Twitter wall to a width of 2560 only proportionally yields a height of 1441.

Therefore, the Twitter wall will not be positioned correctly on the display. The WWDC wall's nebula is more centered.

This "blown up" affect may also account for the "more spacey" look of the Twitter wall as the stars appear larger in size.

It looks awesome. I was going to mention that otherwise you'd be able to enlarge it with Reshade (http://reshade.com) or something. It has it's quicks but is otherwise really good.

Why render? That means nothing for what you're talking about. Just copy and paste (it does have a white background, but Instant Alpha in Preview removes that just fine).

Am I the only one who isnt a huge fan of the purple and black motif? I like the blue one (server) a lot. Too bad Leopard/SL didnt go with that, or even stick with the blue from tiger. I guess it makes no difference as you can readily change it yourself, but its not as appealing in the ads imo. Either way, hyped about SL's release!

It does look similar too the Leopard one but when you compare them side by side you can see just how different it is. Much more vivid and cool I think.

As with the rest of Snow Leopard, this rendition of Aurora is a bit smoother and more colorful.

I just took some of the red channel out of the default wallpaper that User4114 gave us to get it to look a bit like the server version. It's not perfect though..

You see that lighter line that goes from the right to centre ish, that's where it's been screen grabbed, that is NOT the official wallpaper, the official one has already been posted, that one has just been blown up to a large size...

As far as I know, the developer seed does not contain the new QuickTime X icon, but I could be wrong about that.

EDIT: My bad. No, it's not. I compared them (skewed the Corbis photo to more or less match the angle of Apple's photo; see below), and while they're awfully close, they are indeed not the same pictures. But look at the snow patches on the animal; the two photos definitely are from the same shoot and must have been taken only seconds after one another.

Apple released the actual Snow Leopard (the cat one) wallpaper from the Keynote (well, someone leaked it). The coloring isn't quite the same as the WWDC rendition, though, so I worked on the coloring a bit. Sure, it's not quite as good as the original... but it should appeal to those looking for the original (like myself). :)
