I'm a student and can't really afford the 100$ necessary for a 512 mb stick of ram for my 12" Rev A PB... therefore, i avoid running menu based launcher programs when possible... but i got to thinking... is there a way to customize the links in the Finder's "go" menu? Maybe be able to navigate folders (like the iDisk item) or choose which apps are linked... maybe trash the icons so we just have text.

I feel this would save resources if anything. I've looked around but can find anything on other sites. Any ideas?

I would try Unsanity's Fruit Menu ( http://www.unsanity.com/haxies/fruitmenu ). I haven't used it, but it seems like it would be something you might be interested in. I would recommend Unsanity's software though. They put out some cool little apps.
