going from rev a to rev c

i have the 1.8 GHz 64gb SSD and my biggest concern is will i be able to tell a difference? all i know is that i'm fed up with the constant overheating with the rev a's and i was wondering if they fixed the problem by switching over to 9400M's. Would you guys if you were in my situation buy the new macbook air or a 3.06 ghz, 128gb SSD macbook pro?

I'm actually in the process of jumping ship from the Rev. A to Rev. C. I'm only getting the MacBook Air because I need it for portability rather then function. I'm willing to pay to price.

I think the 9400m will make a difference, but not to much else since you already had the SSD version.

well im a full time college student so i need it to be portable i had the old macbook pro and that was just too big! but i do miss watching movies and etc at full screen and not have the computer overheat and lag out on me ;)

sounds to me like you're the perfect candidate for the new 13" MacBook Pro .... the power you need and the portability too ... not to mention the 7 hour battery, improved screen and small easy to manage foot print...

only thing i don't like about the 13" MBP is that u can't get the 3.06 GHz processor and it doesn't have the two video cards, and in my eyes its just a regular macbook still even though its called the "pro", and lastly for the price you pay the MBA seems like a better deal

You're wrong. SSD in rev A and the ones in rev B/C are very different. Parts of benchmark shows double the performance, not to mention double the capacity. CPU/memory may not be that different, but I take it a great upgrade, especially if you're willing to play couple 3D games too. And obviously nicer if rev C runs without CoolBook. My rev A is totally useless (as in being choppy under moderate load) without CoolBook. But of course... rev A has the most reliable display...

Just about any thread that talks about rev C includes about that topic more or less... There's also a specific thread saying 'lines in the rev C'. In short, you get a horizontal faint line on your screen better sighted on lighter background since rev B. If you get lucky, you get the good one.

i would get the macbook air, but with all these line problems maybe i should just pick up a 15" macbook pro
