Does MBA headphone jack support input as well as output?

I have this question about the MBA: on my MBP, the headphone jack allows me to use my iPhone headphones when skyping, i.e. it has input as well as output functionality. Does the MBA have the same feature?

No it does not.

If you plug the headphones with mic into the MBA - the MBA will still only show internal mic as the only input device available.

I;ve tested many times as I use my MBA strictly for audio work.

I bought a Griffin iMic for what I needed.

Specs show it as analog too. Too bad, I'd like to be able to hook one up to my home theatre for the occasional movie.
