How Tricky...?

Hello eveyone. Just a quick Question.
I'm getting an iPhone 3G Locked to a Carrier. But I will defenetly Unlock.
I want to go up to my Local FIDO/ROGERS Store and ask for a SIM card a cheap plan. Will they JUST give me a SIM card..Or will I have to get a Phone. Is there anyway I can Trick them by bringing in an Old Phone. And then Asking them for the plan and the SIM Card..

you might be able to buy one. I know Rogers SIM card cost around 45$.

Just get a plan and a phone that is free or very cheap that you can resell if you want and keep the sim card.
