How do you think an SSD (like Intel or another version with high read/write speeds) would function with FileVault?
Will the constant reading/writing from encryption/decryption significantly affect the life of an SSD? What about performance after multiple writes for each sector?

It will work just fine.

No. At least it won't on any modern SSD with a half-decent wear-leveling algorithm.

There's nothing special about FileVault that would cause any problems here. If the drive has a decent wear-leveling algorithm you'll be fine. Any drive with a low write amplification rate will do just great -- I've used FDE on Intel's SSDs for a couple months now with absolutely no ill effects whatsoever.
