Firewire and Movie Maker Software ?

So Apple is adding the Firewire port to their 13" unibody Macbook "PRO" line.
As an incoming new apple user, what do you recommend for software to capture, burn ect on Macs?

I am really only used to Pinnacle, MS Movie Maker on PC's, so looking for a comparable product...

Must be very User Friendly....Please.....

New macs will come with iMovie and iDVD which will do the same as MS Movie Maker, but 10x better and is also free :) .
