That just makes me laugh, no body owning a 13" Apple laptop can have it all ehh.
I am now glad that i bought my unibody before the upgrade because I don't want to go out and spend $150+ on an audio device just to record a few tunes from my guitar.
Wow, I do love the new MBP, but can't apple just give it all to the 13" customers?

I believe the port is now an audio in/out.

Damn you apple that make sense, although sometime I do like to record with my headphones in.
I guess it is a little nag cause deep down I want one, all I know is that if in between now and 1.5 years time my macbook decides to break, which is unlikely, i will probably get one

Get or Make a splitter, just a simple Y cable..
IIRC they are like 3 dollars at radio shack.

I havent used the audio input and the audio output on my macbook pro in the three years I've owned it. Though it would be nice to have the option for both input and output at the same time.

I've never used the audio in on my MacBook. But if the new port supports the iPhone earphones (Mic + headphone) so I can use it with Skype and stuff, that'd be awesome! Any word yet if this is possible?

Awesome. That makes the combined jack way more useful than separate I/O, in my usage at least. :)

The headphone port in all the original Unibody laptops support this feature as well. I use my iPhone headset for ventrillo and skype on a daily basis.

I have the white MB & an iphone earbud but the mic doesn't seem to work with skype.
Here's the setting in system pref.

The white macbooks do not have a 4-contact headphone port, so they do not support iphone headsets. Only the unibody notebooks do.
