but I was wondering what you guys thought I might be able to get for it, either here or on eBay. I don't want to sell it for too little, and I will be including a bunch of extras. It is in great shape, but does have 2 stuck pixels, which I know will throw off the value. :( As a reminder, this model has the Nvidia Geforce4MX, 800MHz G4 w/100Mhz bus, 3USB (1.1, not 2.0), 2 FW, upgraded to 768MB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, 2x Superdrive, 1440x900 17" widescreen LCD, Apple Pro Speakers, Pro Mouse & Keyboard (white). Comes with Jaguar, World Book, Deimos Rising, Appleworks, Quicken 2002, few other apps that I can't remember at the moment. I'll be including a full retail version of Panther, Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, D-Link Bluetooth Adapter, and JBL Creature Speakers. All come with original packaging, manuals, etc except the JBL's. I could throw in "The Sims" as well, if it makes a difference to anybody. I could also throw in some of those Panther "X" mouse pads, and if anybody wants them but cant get them, I could snag some of those Apple door hangers "Rock On/Study On". It really pains me to sell it, it feels like I'm selling a family member or something, but "desperate times"...*sigh* :(

So, what do you guys think I could get for this? And would it be better to try and sell it here or on eBay? Thanks in advance for the advice!

That's a tough call. It may be hard to find a buyer at the price you'd be willing to sell for. The current iMacs are getting outdated and your 800mhz is a bit old--still a great machine though. I'd place the value on the iMac at around $850, maybe $900. I know it is apples and oranges, but the SuperDrive eMac is just $999 and that has 1.25Ghz, the Radeon 9200 (is that better than your card?) and I think a faster Superdrive. iMac has styling and LCD going for it...

You may be able to get more on eBay. Some eBayers are not very educated and over pay. There is one with 19hours left and it is at $999 so there you go!

You may also do better by selling the accessories seperately. I'm sure you can get close to full value for the wireless mouse and keyboard and the Creatures on eBay.

Sorry to hear you may sell. Good luck.

Try ebay, I sold my 17" imac 800 mhz G4, 80 gig HD, 768 Ram, with panther for ablut $1350 3 weeks ago. I was in the same boat as you, I wanted to purchase a G5 and I wanted the most out of the imac. anyway good luck

Thanks guys. I figured that eBay would be the better option. I hate losing it because its been such a great machine for me (even being outdated and all, its the nicest computer I've ever had, anyways), now all I'll have is an iBook 500...going from 17" to 12" sucks, but it could be worse... :(
