So I plan on getting a new ipod touch in September. My question is once I get it, will I have to re-encode/convert all my previous media? I have had an ipod classic for a while now and I am concerned that I am going to have to re-rip all my movies and TV shows so that they work on the touch. My concern is when I ripped the DVDs, I didnt really keep any kind of standard method of encoding the formats and I am worried that I am going to have to do everything over again.
Can someone clarify what I need to do?

Eh? How could you have not kept a standard? What did you use to rip/package them?
As long as they work in iTunes, they'll work on an iPod.

I used handbrake-I couldnt tell you why I didnt use a standard method-I guess its because my dvds/tv shows all came out differently. I know that once they are in iTunes they will work but my concern is how they will look on the touch once copied. Am I better off just starting fresh and using the ipod touch/ipone preset in handbrake and putting the constant quality at like 65% and keeping the aspect ratios as is?
