Hey guys,

Up for grabs is a XBox with a modchip installed, an Xecutor Lite 2.3 Plus chip, and I have also added a 40GB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM Hard Drive to put some cool stuff on the XBox. I installed the latest BIOS for the chip, and also used the FireF***er's EvoX install CD to install Evox (latest version, 3935) with the following software:

-M$Dashboard 5659.03
-EvoX 3935
-XBMC latest CVS (Plays all kind of media)
-DVD2XBoX (Rip Movies/AudioCDs/Games to HD: Decrypts DVDMovies and compresses AudioCD to ogg)
-Boxplorer (Filemanager)
-Complextools (Backup Games to HD)
-xtoolbox (FtpClient/Backup DVDs)
-linksboks

By disabling the modchip via the switch on the back of the box (external, no need to open up the XBox, you can run the original Xbox dashboard, being able to play on Live. The Xbox is in perfect condition, and the hard drive is completely clean with the exception of software. I am selling because I have lost interest, and am working toward a laptop, so some things have to go, this being one of them.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The Xbox comes with the original cables and a controller, and the unit itself.

Payment is via PayPal, and shipping is $20 in the USA (48 states only).

Thanks

I'm interested. Two questions--does the Xbox still play original game CDs or do you have to copy them to the hard drive first? Also, is the controller a controller-s or the big, bulky old one.

Hey,

The Xbox plays games from the disk, as well as DVDs. You can also copy games and movies to the hard drive for later playing/viewing. It is a Controller S, so it is not the bulky one.

I'll offer $200 shipped for the Xbox.

I saw this go up as I'm a frequent lurker here and I didn't want to register to say that $250 was a nice price when I first saw it last night. I bought my xbox used a couple months ago and I ended up having $280 in parts to mod mine(Including the xbox) so $250 is a pretty good deal, IMO. Somebody should eat this up!

Maybe I'd offer more then...

Last time I checked, this crap was illegal...
I'm not even sure it's allowed to be advertised on these forums...
But hey, I'm nobody to preach.

As far as I know, this isn't illegal. I mean, they did have a segment on The Screensavers (TechTV) about how to do it...
I would throw in games, but I have sold all of mine. I need to sell ASAP, which is why the low price.

Curious. What do all these modifications allow you to do with an XBox?

In my opinion he just installed some extra hardware and a few open source utils. He is not advertising any kind of software piracy (the pieces he mentions are free). It would be illegal if he said i'll give u these 20 games preinstalled on the system without the discs. But hes not saying that so this is not illegal.

Why a modded xbox is nice?
- You can install an extra operating system other than the MSFT dashboard and then it will alow FTP access to the xbox harddrive and lots of other cool tricks.
-You can get an application like xbox media center to play all your files including mp3s, avi's (divx), or mpegs, and DVD discs without the remote. This is very useful.
-If you have a lot of games and a big harddrive (you would need a bigger hard drive which is quite easy to install like an 80gb or a 120gb) you can rip the games to your harddrive. This is very useful because you can move around your whole xbox with just the controllers and a few discs. In a college situation you don't have to worry about people losing/ stealing you games and it saves space. Its also very nice to be able to change the game without getting up from the couch.
-You learn a little about programming if you spend some time setting up the preferences but you don't need to, to make it work.
-This is premodded so you can't screw it up, one of my buddies could never get his chip in.

there are lots of other good reasons, feel free to chime in.

I think you should read the agreement that you get with xbox.
I don't know if it's legal or not to advertise it here, but I'm sure as heck sure Modding consoles "is illegal and voids the warranty".

Cmon dude, use your brains. MOdding xbox allows you to play illegal games and use all other crap that MS obviously doesn't want you to use. Why would they approve it. Whether it's enforced or not is one question, doesn't make it any more legal though.

actually, this is an illegal sale. Unless his modchip has the default cromwell bios, which was primarily for linux use and allowed sales of modchips legally, otherwise, with an Evox bios as posted, it IS illegal.
