Applecare Europe, can I buy it after expiration?

I just got me a beloved white 24" imac, which the forum will soon -allow me- suffer me to publicize my new found romance with it, and I was wondering since it's obviously second hand, if I can buy a new applecare for it off ebay or something. Thanks boys and gals.

p.s. would changing the hd void the warranty/apple care? Could I have it done it for me instead by apple care tec staff?

You have to add AppleCare before the 12 months manufacturers warranty has expired.
