I took my Late 2007 Macbook to the Apple Store to have the screen checked out (there were random burn marks on the screen). They sent it out for repair and when I got it back I noticed the screen was awesomely bright!
Is there anyway to see if they used an LED backlight screen as the replacement? System profiler didn't tell me much.

Typically Apple will only replace parts of previous generation computers with parts from that same generation of computers. Thus, I would doubt that they gave you an LED backlight. It could be that your backlight had degraded and become dimmer since you got the computer.

Most likely not. The LED vs CCFL backlighting uses different circuitry. Chances are the backlight is just newer, and such, is brighter.

That sounds about right. The screen they replaced was about 2 years old and probably lost some brightness during that time. Thanks for the help!
