From all the unboxing pics and promo shots I've seen, it sure looks like it.

Pretty sure it's exactly the same smooth glass as the previous iPhones. You can easily add an antiglare screen protector though (see Crystal Film, ClearTouch, ClearCal, and others). Personally I prefer smooth because it's sharper and the contrast is better but I know a lot of people who are very happy with the antiglare.

Actually it's different :

"Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating"

Diamond dust coating

It should still have its diamond dust encoded optical glass, as all previous models. With that, the optical grade glass won't scratch easily.

Huh. I stand corrected. I assume oleophobic means oil-resistant, but does that mean the surface is rough instead of smooth?

I never seen one of these coatings first-hand. I know many eyeglass lenses and binoculars use a similar coating.

You'd hope so with all the jealous looks... Though I hear that anyone who gets to use it starts smiling pretty quickly... 😉

Here are some comparisons of a similar coating :

If you look closely at the ad apple has when he shines the camera in the dark room, the glass looks more frosty than shiny.
