hello.

This is the email from Apple.

Hello Jimmy,

My name is Arrin and I want to thank you for contacting iTunes Customer Support. I see from your email that you are concerned as to why your account was disabled and would like to know what happened to the Gift Cards that you recently redeemed. Please know that I can appreciate your concerns and I would be happy to look into this for you.

I spoke with a colleague from the accounting team and it would appear that your account was disabled because the card holder whose card was used to purchase iTunes Gift Certificates that were recently redeemed to your account has refuted the charges with their credit card company.

The buyer will need to contact his or her credit card company to discuss the disputed purchase.

Since this account has had significant fraudulent behavior, our policy is to not re-enable it. However, you will still be able to play all of the items that were purchased with it. If you want to make future purchases from the iTunes Store, you will need to create a new account.

Apple recognizes that no one is better qualified to provide feedback about iTunes than the people who use it.

I encourage you to use the iTunes Feedback page to submit your comments:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

Thank you for your understanding, Jimmy. Have yourself a great day.

Sincerely,

Arrin
iTunes Store Customer Support

Please Note: I work Mon to Fri 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM"

Given the high profile lately of fraudulent purchased cards available on ebay etc ... the info you didn't provide us is where you got it from and how much you paid....

If you bought from ebay a $100 gift-card and only paid $50 for it ... u must have suspected something .... if thats the case then i don't have much to offer cos its likely that card was bought using stolen credit card details and the sold on ebay

Either way though, itunes policy is very clear and its entirely in their power to block ur account without recourse

Sorry to say, but that does sound a little too good to be true. My guess is that the person you bought the card from is not on the up and up. That's really unfortunate for you. I would get back into contact with the apple store representative and plead your case. Maybe they'll help you out. And I'd advise you to only purchase itunes content from clearly legitimate sources from here forward. Sorry, and good luck!

You fell for a scam.

Deals too good to be true = scam.

Why don't you look at the other threads to see whether the topic has been posted? Here is one page

Noted in past posts like these, Apple has stepped up killing these fraudulent gift cards -- and when they do it they lock down the iTunes account of the person using them.

Pay $1k legitimately, and save $50 on a gift card and have the account frozen.

Makes sense.
