New Macbook White with 1.5 Gbps or 3.0 Gbps Sata

Anyone here able to chime in on this since it appears that they went to 1.5 Gbps. Sata on the new Macbook Pro 13" model and 15" model..
 
Yup. The 13 and 15 inch pros are now sata 1, whereas the Air, The 17 inch pro, And the white macbook still use sata 2.
 
Unless you are going to buy an SSD it's nothing to worry about. This is from the main page of macrumors.com.

The slower SATA interface is unlikely to affect the bulk of users as even the fastest traditional hard drives are unable to saturate even the 1.5 Gbit interfaces. However, if you are planning on buying a fast Solid State Drive (SSD), it could affect the drive's performance. The downgrade of the interface in the new MacBook Pro has also been confirmed in early benchmarks using a fast enough SSD.

I thought on the new motherboards the same SATA chip is used that's used in the previous models, but it's merely capped at 1,5Gbps by software.

I'd bet this is the case as well.

Not that it matters either way for me seeing how I have the factory HDD, but w00t for sata 3.0gbps on my UMB! 😛
 
Anyone with a new white Macbook able to confirm if they are getting Sata II 3.0 speeds on the new Macbook Whites? I plan on installing a SSD in one after purchasing one.
