I'm trying to install the 2.1 XP drivers, but whenever I begin the installation my Macbook Pro ends the installation, citing error 2762...what is this error?

A quick Google search (http://blogs.msdn.com/windows_installer_team/archive/2005/09/04/454366.aspx) says that this is due to a parsing error in the MSI file.

Hmm... I'm not quite sure what I'd do in this case. Because I'm quite certain the MSI installer is compiled correctly (I've installed the drivers before), and that the error could be due to something different and unrelated to MSI, I wouldn't know if it's due to the OS or something else. Have you tried restarting, relauching the installer program, and small trivial things like that?

Yes, I've restarted multiple times and downloaded the file from Apple about 4 times, but still the same error...

Are you running this update via Apple Software Update in Windows? If so, try downloading the update itself from Apple's site (http://support.apple.com/downloads/Boot_Camp___Windows_XP_Drivers_Update_2_1).

I'm having the same problem, and I tried off of the disk and from the download. From the disk, i get the same 2762 error as the original poster. From the download, it completes successfully, but doesn't actually fix anything. All of my devices are unrecognized in the control panel.

Any ideas?
