what your saying is that if you have to reinstall OS X and you have the 10.1.1 CD, you only have to install that and then get the 10.1.5 update, right?
you don't have to install the 10.1.2 to 10.1.4 updates, this right?

Yeah, thats right. When I reinstalled my system on a new HD, I had to install OS X 10.0, then update to OS X 10.1 (via another full install) then I upgraded to OS X 10.1.5 all in one step via the combined installer.
Its a lot nicer than before.

Do you still have to do the Installer Updat and Security updates and al that other stuff before getting 10.1.5 or is it put on 10.1 and then do one update? How big was the combined update?

They've always combined the updates. Many of my friends use my T1 to update their rigs, and many times miss updates inbetween. As always, the system updates combined.

However sometimes they get to be huge downloads and I have to share my phone line- housemates get a bit pissed if you are online for several hours- much better when they break them into chunks, like they did with 9.1 (I think it was that one, it was about 70mb anyway.)

OS 9.1 was around 70MB, OS 9.2.1 was about 84MB, and the OS X combined update is around 45MB.

no they were all there included in it......which is good cause it saved a heap of time, just download and install, restart and bam It was back to normal
but the version number is dif, before it was 5S66, now its 5S60 which is odd but it might be the new one for the combined update
