iPod New MBP & need to transfer iPod to iTunes

Hello, i just got a new Macbook Pro & now my iTunes won't let me add songs to my iPod.....it says to erase & sync? I have wayyyy to many songs to do this, can anyone help?

I'm trying to put my songs from my old iPod on my new macbook?
