View Full Version : Uninstall Windows? (After Uninstalling Fusion)

Here's what I did and what I'm trying to do and what I'm stuck on.

I installed Fusion and then installed Windows XP Professional, both from the discs. I then installed the one thing I need to run on Windows, MetaTrader4. The MT4 and Windows seemed a bit buggy, although not terrible, so I decided to try Bootcamp to see if MT4 worked better there.

I uninstalled MT4.

I then uninstalled Fusion, using the disc. Then deleted the Fusion library files (following a thread found on the subject).

Now I need (I suppose I need) to get rid of the Windows files before I start over with Bootcamp. Assuming I'm correct and I need to rid my MBP of Windows before starting over with Bootcamp...How do I get rid of the Windows files?

My plan (following getting rid of Windows files) is to do what I should have done first - Install Windows on Bootcamp, install Fusion. Run Windows and MT4 in either Bootcamp or Fusion depending on which is better for MT4.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Fusion uses one (or more if not set before) big files found in Users/you/Documents/Virtual Machines to store your Windows in there, so there would have been no need to uninstall anything, just deleting via Fusion or Finder would have sufficed.

There is no Registry on Mac OS X, especially not for virtual machines.

I'll now go back and do the Bootcamp installation first.

Thanks,
