Which is a better choice, the entry level imac with the ATI 2600 graphics or the current one with Gforce 9400. Macconnection has a great price on the previous one and throw in a wireless keyboard and mouse. Also, what is the diffrence with the DDR2 vs DDR3?

The ATI has dedicated memory and the NVIDIA shares the memory with the system's RAM.

DDR2 has less MHz (in the iMac) than DDR3.

I leaning towards the previous 20 inch as it is 150 bucks less. Will it be ok with the new snow leopard system?

As long as it's Intel it should be fine with Snow Leopard. I would go with the 20'.

I would get the iMac with the nvidia card because the radeon pro 2600 will not work with openCL in Snow Leopard. Just a thought.

I'm leaning towards the new one as you suggested plus I read some other threads that mentioned the screen being better. Also, getting an ipod touch thrown it helps sweeten the deal. I manily use my current emac for web surfing and managing about 100GB of tunes. I do very little photo stuff or playing games.
