Do i need a powered USB hub if i want to hook a USB hub to the back of my extreme and run two external hard drives and a printer off of it?

When i plug the two externals in at the same time they dont fully load. If i plug in one then the other they freeze again. So is it the Hub needing to be powered or the extreme not being able to handle the amount of data flowing?

Thanks

Yes, you will need a powered hub. The single USB port can only support 1 hard drive (same as ports on other devices).

I'm have the same setup on my AEBS - two bus powered drives (WD and a generic).

I have a NewerTech ministack from OWC. Solves both problems. It's an external hard drive and USB hub that matches the footprint of the AE. Works great.
