Different Earphones with 3GS?

Has anyone noticed the difference in description of the earphones that come with the 3G vs 3GS?

3G = Stereo headset with mic

3GS = Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic

Yes - the 3G S headphones have the volume control on them.

My remote is not working at all with my 3GS. anyone else having this problem??
