Can I update to 3.0 from a different computer leaving the rest in tack, I am away from my primary sync computer and would like to update the 3.0 software but nothing else. Is this possible?

Yes you can.

You can leave all the information intact if you plug you phone into another computer and update as long as you do not do a full restore.

Just update it.
