i haven't updated it yet. It would be nice if it was though. Mine seems to have slowed down since upgrading.

Was snappy before. Is snappy now.

Headline - Lab Tests Conclude: Safari 4.0.1 Snappier

Independent researchers at a lab in my basement have found that the Snaptitude level of Safari 4.0.1 measured at 45.3, an improvement over previous levels of 43.6 in Safari 4.0. Safari 4.0.1 is the second public release of the internet broswer from Apple.

if it is that 'snappy', I might have to give it whirl...

My Safari 3 snaps so well, I haven't downloaded Snappy 4.0.1 yet ;)

Snappier seems to be the only way to describe the difference, pages go from totally blank to totally loaded all at once there's none of this partial loading lark. Even opening sites from the top sites screen seems faster.

It's 2 snaps in an "X" formation snappy.

The Java security hole had me off of SafRE for a bit.

I downloaded Safari 4 to my Imac and replaced my old Safari on my Toshiba laptop too! I like it better than the old Safari and it seems to be much faster for me! (I got used to using Safari for filing stuff on my my Mac and when Safari came out for PC's I put it on my laptop mostly for keeping links and used Firefox for my primary browser. Now Safari is pretty fast even on a PC!)

What I don't care for is the placement of the new ADD A BOOKMARK FOR CURRENT PAGE plus sign next to the address line. I keep clicking that for home or to stop a page from downloading. Everything else I can adjust to but I tried to move that Plus Sign Bookmark icon but it seems to be there for good! Not a big problem just a little thing that bugs me when I am using Safari.

So far so good!

Easy way to get rid of that button. Right click the toolbar then click Customize Toolbar. Drag the Add Bookmark button onto the toolbar, this will get rid of the one attached to the Address field. You can now drag the other Add Bookmark button off the toolbar and voila...all gone! :D

Yeah Inoticed too safari 4 runs a lot smoother. I'm only hate the customize bar is still limited than in FF

When I first installed the update, it wouldn't work properly. The window would activate and I couldn't click any links, but quitting the app. fixed it and it seemed faster than the first Safari 4.0.

You're all right! It's incredibly snappy! :O
I wouldn't have believed it could be so snappy unless I tested it myself, which I did just now... It even loaded Miniclip in a matter of seconds. ;D

mine was slower after the initial installation. since the upgrade it is much better. It's almost as if it is....something... can't think of the word for it...

hmm, oh well... it's definitely better though
