Since I moved to Silicon Vally two weeks ago, you want to talk about housing prices? Even the banks are breaking the 3x Salary thumb to sell - it's redicuf$%#ing.

Pretty out of control, hunh? It's got my fiancée and I scared to make the jump from renting...it's gotten so bad that people can't even get the loans they'd need to purchase, let alone on good terms.

Try Boston or San Francisco. Cheapest houses in the town I used to live in started at 200k for 2000 sq ft and no lawn at all. And this is the suburbs. Move into cambridge and prices start rising. Some streets start at 5 million.

Boston and SF, always at the top of the COLA lists.

Try Boston

A house near Boston will sell for $450,000.. that same house will sell in Columbus, Ohio from $130,000. Boston is insane.. but its a glimpse in the future for all of us. It'll happen here eventually too.

Well, thanks - I think. I just heard a report that the median price of a home in San Jose hit $575,000.

Swell.

at least the houses outside of philly come with lots of land! My uncle owns a house in Doyels SP Town and he has enough yard space that the whole family can camp out on the lawns for our reunions! BTW: I can't spell

Damn, I wish I had property like that. My dad built us a nice house back in '88. Its worth 850,000-950,000 now (had it apraised last week). Thats pretty good!
