My wife is eligible for the discounted price for the new phone because she happens to be the primary on the account  . She has a black 8gb 3G, and I have a white 16GB 3G. Can I buy a new 3GS then switch the sim card in her old 8GB to my old 16GB and take the sim in my old 16GB and put it in the new 3GS phone and have them both work just like our old phones with our own backups  ?

We both have specific iTunes playlists and iPhoto info that we keep synced to each phone. I was hoping to get the new phone myself and sell her old black 8GB with the new sim?

Will this work or is there an easier solution? Thanks in advance. :)

According to the ATT rep I just talked to... yes. I want to get a new 3GS and give my old one to someone in the family. They said you can pass down the phone, just make sure they get the data plan BEFORE they access anything on the phone or the data charges can bite you in the rear.
