Is it at all odd that Kerry hasn't announced his vice president yet? There was some talk around April 1st of him meeting w/ Nader, never heard what happened.

i just read on google's news page that he may be waiting until after the boston convention to get more fund rasing.

Nope. That doesn't happen until the party delegates vote on the floor of the convention. Remember, the convention won't happen until August, and the election is nearly six months off. It would be strange if Kerry had announced a running-mate by now.
