So I have a situation.

Some background. I sold my ninja 250 for 4k and made a nice 500 profit on the bike after putting 1500 or so miles on it over 2 months.

I now want another bike

My main options are a
1) 2009 yamaha fz-600 at $6500
2) 2009 suzuki sv 650s at $6500

these i could finance or pay all at once if i wanted....though they dont have dealer fees/crating/etc fees attached to the price so id try to negotiate that some

or

there is a 2003 sv650 s with like 2800miles and he is wanting to sell it as all his freiends sold his bike for 3800. I talked him down to 3600 including a helmet. KBB has the bike retail for about $4k so i figure its a decent price

im leaning towards the 2003 option. the seller is holding the bike for me to which is nice!

thoughts?

looks really sharp

I am guessing you are enjoying riding more and more and that this won't be your last bike, so go with the used one.

is the price decent?

at what point do you convince yourself its a "smart" buy lol

If KBB has it priced higher, then it sounds like it is a decent deal.

The smart buy is the used one...you could probably sell it for more even after enjoying it for a while just like you did on your 250. I had a Ninja 250 as my starter bike and sold it 5 years later for only $200 less than I paid.

The luxury buy is the brand spanking new bike with the latest features. It still sounds like this won't be your last bike, so I would still go used. You said its in great shape.
