SMS problems

So I switched to ATT from Alltel yesterday, I have yet to get my number ported over, but I don't think that is going to make any difference with my problem. I send messages to other people using Alltel and the get my message, but I don't get their response. I do get responses from ATT and Centennial users. I'm not sure if this is somthing wrong with ATT or Alltel or what. Is anyone else having this issue?

if your number is not ported, then how would you possibly get anything on your new phone?? Or did you get a new number and are going to replace it with the existing one..
