I've been searching for a simple + clean solution for having one iTunes Library being accessed by multiple computers.

Set-up.
1TB External HD (all media)
Mini (acts as the "server" for the :apple:TV)
MacBook (main computer used for synching iPhone)

Having the Mini and the MacBook point to the same folder isn't good enough because the MacBook will miss anything purchased on the Mini and vice versa.

I tried using one iTunes Library (binary file) and of course got the permission errors and iTunes crashing.

I've seen some "synch" software but that is if you want actual music files synched between two folders.

I don't want my music all over the place. Anyone have any good solutions out there?

The only thing I did was duplicate the iTunes library file. I copied that file to computer 2. If I get more music I need to repeat the process. I'm working with 70 gb of music. I've heard you don't want both machines accessing the library at one time....This was the best I could do with all my research.

If you want, you can put the iTunes library stuff on your Mini, and then hold down the Option key when you open iTunes. It will ask you what library you want to use. There you go, instant music over network :D

Edit: I forgot to note that this technique works with a few other apps too like iPhoto.
