Hey guys,
Just looking for some more ram for my 1st gen mac pro and stumbled across this ram Centon (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3561115&CatId=2499)
Seems really cheap for that amount, but hey maybe its ok.

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks,
AG

No maybe. That's fine. Don't pay any attention to the brand-names it's only printing. Just look at the warrantee length, and the CL rating - and of course make sure that it's the right kind and spec for your system. ;)

CL (CAS) 5 on units with a data rate of 667MHz is fine. Check the other things tho.

So long as the RAM is handled properly during installation (ground yourself), there is a low risk of failure. RAM brands don't really mean that much nowadays, given the fact that most are manufactured by the same few companies in South Korea, China, or Japan.

Alright Thanks for the info,

on one other note, $99 for 4GB has to be a great price right?

Here's a 2x2 kit for $81.50 http://www.memoryamerica.com/fk225672667at.html

These might work: http://www.memoryamerica.com/fk225672667mt.html for $75.90 but are those heat-sinks going to be good enough? Maybe no? :p

Hmm... Does the brand make much of a difference?
I prefer to choose the manufacturer of the actual silicon or go for a major brand that's recognised using Samsung IC's that's compatible.
