iMovie Importing w/o cuts

I have a HS football video that had 65 'clips', but I would like it import it into iMovie as 1. Basically turn off the automatic clip detection. Is there a way to do this? Right now I have to import them and build it as one in iMovie, but it be a HUGH benefit if I could just get iMovie to be 'less helpful. Any thoughts?
