Wait until later this summer. I'm sorry, but all these how to get MMS for impatient people threads are getting to be much.

And it's actually "late summer," not "later this summer." "Late summer" was the actual quote from AT&T.

Seriously. We haven't had MMS for 2 years now... Can't we all just wait another month or so instead of everyone trying to bug AT&T to get them to remove the MMS block? It will come when it comes, and everyone will shut up when it gets here.

You don't like all these threads about how to get MMS so you ... start a new thread about ... how to get MMS. Right. That makes a lot of sense.

This is the same feeling I got when my parents told me that Santa wasn't real...

What's the difference between later this summer and late summer? They both are not specific times. In fact, they're both so vague that it really doesn't matter. Why do you need MMS right this instant? Do you seriously have some important photos queued up to send to people's phones?

Actually, I sent about 10 MMS messages this morning (pics) and received three (two pics and one VCF) ... So, yeah. I can understand why some people might want MMS right NOW. ;)

I had MMS 5 years ago on T-Mobile so yeah, I would like it THIS INSTANT. Jackass.

I don't usually do this, but why are you on this board if you think Apple is crap, use a PC, and choose to put a snide comment in your signature that falsely deems Mac users to be elitists? Just curious. Not to mention the fact that Apple has nothing to do with AT&T's failure to have MMS and tethering ready at launch. There are many countries around the world where it is working just fine. I think your animosity is a but misplaced.
As far as the thread goes, I tend to agree with TheSpaz. The steps to enable MMS have been posted on here a million times and yet there is still no end to the confusion and misinformation and new threads asking how to do it. And no matter what you do on your end of things, unless AT&T flips the switch, you get no MMS. Those are the choices, call AT&T now and beg, or wait. There really isn't much more to say that hasn't already been said.

Since this thread is pointless, I will ask a question here to make it not as pointless. What is the best way to view MMS that people send? I'm new to the iphone and I just received a picture message for the first time last night and I had to go to a link and type in the ID and password provided in the text message. The only way I could figure out how to get the password and ID in there was to copy the entire message and paste it into the ID field and then trim it there. This is incredibly tedious. Is there a better way?

That is not MMS but the rather it is the pathetic workaround AT&T created for iPhone owners to be able to view pics sent to them from other phones. In 3.0, MMS is treated just like an SMS in the Messages app. There is a thumbnail of the pic in the thread that you can click on to view and save.

Yes, that is correct, but do you have an answer to my question? What is the best way to type in the ID and password listed in the SMS to be able to view the picture?

Weel, I for one thought it was a good thread. Sometimes I just want to go off on people here, this is a much much better solution. :)

I understand everyone is upset at AT&T for not being ready... I mean they had from March to now to click all those little checkboxes (that's how I assume they have to do it... one at a time... there's a lot of them) but how long does it take? They had 3 months to start clicking those checkboxes and still nobody has MMS unless they call in to get it manually changed for them on an individual case basis. That's crappy on AT&T's part.
But, there only needs to be ONE thread on how to enable MMS. Call it "How to get MMS on AT&T by lying and hacking". That's it. Do we need a new thread every time someone calls in? "Hey, this is what you say to AT&T right here, I'm right... it worked for me!"
Lemme tell some of you people a secret... not every AT&T rep is the same. Some will gladly help you out, some will have no idea what you're talking about, some will say it's impossible and some will simply deny you. There's no *one thing* you can say to them.
That's all I'm trying to say.

Well, my question is this:
If, as speculation has it, the reason it is delayed is because everyone was hacking in the ability in the 3.0 betas and now there are codes that need removed, then how is hacking in the functionality now going to help anything?

it has been demonstrated in other threads that no matter what you tell them, even if they enable MMS for you, in a few hours it will be gone again, except in a few cases. So i dont think it matters what person you talk to with AT&T. The lady I spoke with gave me the "well the iPhone does MMS different than every other phone" line

I dont think everyone will get MMS at once. I think it would be pretty stupid on ATT's part to send 40+ million people a text saying that they can MMS. Everyone is going to try it as soon as they get it. So if i were ATT i would open up the feature little by little to the public.
