I just ordered one due to my concern over the Incase Slider, which I've been using for the past year on my iPhone 3G. From what I've read and heard from those who have reviewed these cases, it's an excellent mix of hard-shell rigidity and soft material that's easy to get on and off, retains its shape, and doesn't scratch the device.

Quite excited to see how it actually is once it arrives.

What color did you order? I'm torn between the black Solo and breeze Solo FX (which looks darker when put on a black iPhone 3G)...

I just got one too and i like it a lot. The one downside is it can push the screen protectors corners up. I thought i did it by accident when i put it on but after changing to a new one the opposite corner decided to push up. Its not really a big deal. On my wife's it does not push the corners up at all, so i guess it just my luck.

I think they are a bit overpriced but then again i think ALL cases are overpriced.

I also bought a "look-a-like" solo fx off ebay for $5(shipping including from china) so i can try that out and see how that matches up against iskin's. From the pics it looked almost the same minus the tapering towards the bottom corners. They even have colors that iskin doesn't have (clear, transparent black, pink) I'm excited to see how close these cases are because $5 is much more reasonable.

I was worried about the breeze color looking "girly" so i got the red FX. They do look darker on the backside for sure. You can get the FX cases from APS pro store online for $25 and the use the fall10 coupon for 10% off.

I'm a guy. I much prefer the look of either white or black cases (I own a white and gunmetal Incase slider), but one of the most appealing aspects of these cases is the ability to see through to the Apple logo and fine print on the back. Both white and black Solo cases are opaque. Additionally, given that the material is likely a bit more tacky than hard plastic itself, I was worried that black would show too much gunk and the white would get discolored too much.

I ordered the breeze solo FX. It's a nice blue color, and looks rather muted on a black iPhone 3G S. I would have preferred it without the circles, and don't intend to use the mirror screen protector, but oh well. The standard Solo colors really aren't that great.

Nice; is it fairly easy to slide in-and-out of a pocket?

I haven't received it yet. I'll be sure to let you know once I get it, though. It's easy to slide in and out from what I've heard. Apparently after a few hours of in-hand use most of the tack on the back goes away, and it feels like smooth plastic.

I just purchased the InCase Slider for my new 3Gs, what were your issues with it??

I like the photos of the solo.. are those in any retail store? I bought the Slider, after I made the Apple Store lacky, put it on a 3G demo,

its like a hard case once its put on

but still has that "hard gell" feeling

so its durable and easy to take off

My iPhone 3G S is currently in a slider, but the cases really did a number on my iPhone 3G. The back has quite deep scratches in several places, the buttons have noticeable scuff marks from sliding it in-out of the case, and there are also some deep scratches on the side.

In general, while I love the feel of the slider in my hand, it's a flawed design for those interested in keeping their phone in pristine condition. I think I'm going to feel a lot better with a semi-soft plastic case that has a soft interior to protect from scratches, but still feels similar to a hard case on the outside.

the slider is a well designed case with one BIG flaw... it has to slide in and out. If there is one spec of dirt inside it will drag along the entire back. Just logic to me if you drag or pull something there is friction. I much perfer cases that pop in and out.

I can take a pic of the iskin solo's as best i can of the red and green FX later on. The knock-off i bought from ebay is the breeze color. I'll show pics of that one when it comes.

I agree. honestly I have no intention of taking it out.. I would like it if Zagg or another skins maker, made Colored skins...

I just want that damn chrome bezel gone.. but not not willing to give 200 bucks and my phone for 2 weeks to get colorware to do it..

the InCase Frame, another thread, looks like a nice option as well.

I would have gone with the Frame if the rubber/silicone that they use didn't suck. They should really use a similar material to the Solo for the sides.

i'm really liking this case for my 3GS except for 2 things-

1. the headphone hole is not completely centered properly over the iphone head jack- i have to push it a little every time i plug in my apple in ear headphones

2. (and this is more my problem than the case's) my new phone seems to get real dusty in my pockets no matter which i put it in- and that dust collects a little under the solo fx case.

but otherwise i love the csae.

That is relatively common and I did change one Solo FX for another due to this. However, massaging does help to a certain degree.

The frame case is horrible! the silicone gets dirty and the clear backs scratch super easy. Theres that new case-mate reveal that is very similar but the silicone is on the inside. Clearly after 2 years of cases there is not one clear cut winner.

i have had:
spg thin case -- 1st case had layer of coating peel off, 2nd was not molded properly and the top right corner would crack/split

incipio feather -- nice very thin, bottom was exposed, and no shock protection

speck candyshell -- very good protection, not many colors, added bulk

iskin solo fx -- best i like so far, great material, some shock protection, chrome completely covered, not too bulky.

I have more cases than I care to admit, the Iskin Solo is my favorite of all of them. It's light, not bulky, it fits over my front and back best skin ever and it's glossy without getting loaded with scratches.

Excellent excellent case.....The Iskin Solo cases are the top dog IMO. My Incase Slider, Capsule Rebel, Capsule Neo, Griffin IClear, you name it, they all sit on a shelf now.

I have a green one on my iPhone 3G and its probably going to be my case of choice when my 3GS arrives tomoz.

I've used and collected a lot of cases, Switcheasy Rebels/Neo, Speck Candyshell/SeeThru, Contour Flick etc etc and this is deffo one of the best :)

Like others have noted, this is the one of the better cases. But dust will still collect under the edges and can scratch the bezel. I have a few minor scratches already. I think I'll just go back my Waterfield sleeve, which although bulky won't scratch any part of the phone.

Not if you have a skin on it. I have a best skin ever on the back of my phone which also covers the bezel, the case fits perfectly over the skin.

I have the RebelSerpent, and I never realized how much bulk it added to my phone. (Til a friend showed me a different case on his phone..)

I love how the phone feels protected with the added bulk, but I think I'm going to get the iSkin Solo. It's either that one, or the Griffin Reveal.

(Oh, and my RebelSerpent is sagging at the bottom- it's a bit annoying.)

The problem with the Griffin Reveal is that the bezel is exposed. Which brings me back to the 3GS (which I probably will not upgrade to). Why the hell did not Apple replace the cheap-looking, scratch-prone, chrome-plated bezel? Something in anodized charcoal black would have looked very classy and would not be so scratch-prone.

You're right, which is why I'm leaning towards the iSkin, I don't really care to see the bezel. :)

I had a few iPod cases a while back from iSkin but I hated the huge amount of bulk that it adds to the iPod. This is why I haven't bought one for my 3G. I had the Incase Slider, which covered the bezel, but scratched the everliving crap out of it. I had that phone replaced due to cracks and I have kept my 'new' 3G naked with a PowerSupport Crystal. There are no scratches on it... yet

Probably going to pull the trigger on this product but to ease my concerns will someone confirm that this...

1. protects the phone fairly well
2. does not scratch the phone
3. does not add too much bulk (I would prefer one that is very very thin)
4. easily slide in and out of my pocket
5. doesn't look too silly (I'm a 25 year old male and I'm not trying to make any sort of fashion statement)

I realize most of these questions have been answered in some sort or fashion, but if someone could ease my mind I would greatly appreciate it!

This is not to say however that the Incase Slider is not perfect for the person who does not remove their case often.

Like me for example, I have removed it maybe three times and the phone is still in perfect condition.

Not at all, the Iskin Solo has a nice flat lip that will cover over the screen protector just a bit, instead of push on it like the Slider does. This case rests over top.

I really think this case is the best out there.

Donate?

hehe Well, I will sell a Matte Black Slider like new and 2 rebels (funky bottoms) for 17.00. I gave a few of them away to the guy who bought my 3G when I upgraded to 3GS.

I'm going to grab another Iskin Solo, I love this case. The fact that it fits perfectly with a fully skinned phone is just what I have been looking for.

Put the slider on first, then install a screen protector. The slider is really finicky about SP's. but once you have it installed how the slider wants it you should not have issues with other cases either.

No it won't. I have had mine for months and have taken it on and off, it still doesn't sag. Once the case is on, push up a bit with your thumbs on the back of the case, this brings the top flap down a bit more and makes the bottom pull up nicely. It is just as taught as the day I got it.

I had the blue. In the right light it did show the logo, slightly. I got rid of it because it did often appear more purple than blue, and because it's a darker color it showed dust and fingerprints. I ended up with the FX orange (which is just too bright on my white phone) and now the blue FX (breeze), which is just about perfect.

I know its little but i dont care. These guys are charging 40-45 CAD for a silicone/plastic case. Honestly, iSkin needs some better quality control.

If they charged under 25 like most silicone cases, i wouldnt mind. iSkin SOLO FX are pretty pricey for the TYPE of case you get. If u charge premium price, make sure the quality is nice...TIME to return this 2nd one again...

Hey Ferris,

Do you still have the BSE (back) and Solo FX case combo? I have a question - does it leave watermarks at the back? I have a white iPhone, with BSE just recently installed but I don't want the skin to collect lint and dust again so I'm wondering if watermarks appear against this case? Thanks.

OK, I have been lurking for a while and reading and rating and watching youtube reviews. Anyways I have a 3gs and 3g for my wife and I. Both are less than a month old and I would like to protect them. I purchased a griffin wave case at walmart on a whim and its way to bulky. After further research I have decided on the full bodyguardz and iSkin solo and solo fx for my wife. The bodyguardz will give me complete scratch proof no matter what case I have and the solo will give decent protection without alot of bulk. You all seem very knowledgeable and would appreciate any opinions or experiences with this combo.

I thought I posted it in here but it may have been in another thread.

I have an Iskin Solo which is the same as an FX just not clear and fancy, mine is glossy black (I love it)

I also have a best skins ever on the back of my phone, the combo works perfect. Scratch and drop protection with minimal bulk.

Just be sure when you remove your Iskin Solo you lift up each top corner (don't be afraid of ripping or stretching it). If you don't lift each corner over, it will catch your skin and pull it up at each corner.

As long as you lift on each you will be good to go with a skin on the back. I take mine off all the time to clean it. Lift up and over.

Overall the knock off "soft case" is very close to the iskin. It is the exact same material (which is the key to the case IMO) It had a more firm feel on the corners, maybe it was slightly molded thicker? but its really hard to tell. With them side by side in hand you could feel some difference but what it was exactly is pretty hard to tell. My guess is a slight difference in the actual molding process.

The fit itself was very close to the iskin, it felt like i had to stretch it the same amount installing the case. The overlap did seem a little bit more but that only adds more coverage, again pretty slight but you still could notice on a side by side test.

The one major difference was in the cutouts. The headphone jack was cut very close to the original jack so it bigger jacks would be possible. As in the iskin case they over cut the headphone jack to allow just about any size to fit. The silence switch on the knock off was actually cut better then the iskin case. On the iskin it is a very tight cut and you really have to get a nail on it for it to work. The knock off was a little easier and almost cut like an incase slider in that area. For the bottom cut, it again was very close to the original iskin but i believe it was slightly bigger but not bad at all.

Now my only issues with the case were in 2 places. On the real iskin the volume rocker and sleep button are actually molded into the case so that you can feel them from the outside. ON the knock off those areas are not raised, so it has a smooth feeling surface. The difference is the molding for those 2 areas are internal. You can still access both the rocker and sleep with just a gentle press because those areas are thinner then the rest.

The circular design was almost the same except for the "frosted" texture could have been applied with more quality, its slightly uneven in one spot, but for me to mention that is being very picky. I also think the circles are a little more transparent on the knock off too.

Overall the knock off for $5 is a really nice case, and only differs slightly to that of the original. Had i not bought the real case i probably would have been perfectly happy with the $5. basically the only difference is a slight variation in the mold and a little bit of quality control, typical with knock offs. Beyond that a very close version of a VERY over priced solo FX = $40 shipped from iskin. I should note i did find the iskin solo FX @ the APSpro store online for $25 and with a 10% coupon.

Any other questions i can try and answer for you guys.

Do you guys know if the dock adapter from the Neo case would fit iSkin Solo when you place your iPhone on a dock?

I am also getting another Marware Flexi-Shell which is another fantastic case that works with skins.

Another great thing about the Iskin Solo and the FlexiShell is that they are nice and glossy but don't get all scratched up like a hard glossy plastic case. My Solo is about 6 months old and it looks pretty much the same as the day I got it.

I have the purple FX on white. It's def my favorite case. Though, I did notice that the 3G heated up so much right around the logo it left a little burn mark on the case. =(

Thinking about getting the black but wondering how it looks w/ the white iPhone. I like that it's a little transparent. Anyone have pics of that combo?

Looks like the girl in the video bought her knockoff from eBay seller kblworld. You can find their iSolo FX-like cases by searching on soft rubber case iphone 3g.

I bought mine by searching on soft plastic case iphone 3g, and I believe that seller is one of the few selling black and white cases. (I bought the black.)

You just have to make sure your screen shield is lined up perfectly. If it is coming off the edge of the glass even just a tiny bit, this can occur with this case (as well as any other case that covers the chrome bezel). I would recommend you try to take the shield off and see if you can re-align it a bit more. :D

I received my Bodyguardz today, no Solo yet but should be here soon. I applied the bodyguardz front without much trouble. The back was a different story. Started out pretty promising but ended up playing with the corners too much. So I tore it off and went on with the second back. I had much better success this time and currently have saran wrap on the corners ensuring that they are flat. There are a few bubbles on the back that I hope will disappear after some time. Especially because I got almost a perfect fit with the second back. Stage 1 complete, I HOPE!

with the real or the knock off?

with the real case has a raised surface and i dont find it too much trouble at all, but i coming from a speck candyshell which has no feeling at all.

The knock off has a completly smooth surface, making it pretty difficult to feel the location without looking at it.

I'm referring to the real one, by iSkin, Solo FX. Somehow I'm having a hard time with regards to the sleep/wake button, it's somehow raised more than I expected lol, probably because of the BSE at the back (?)

I have had the case about 5 days now a d I really like it. Verylittle bulk added to the phone. Very simple but looks great. I do have to admit that I also like this bodguardz skin on the back. It turned out way better than I thought it would. The skin gives me new confidence when the phone is not in a case. I didn't had time to take a picture of it but yes, it does stain on the skin, we saw the red-circle things allover it, even on the sides.. horrible. I am in total agreement..I didn't have the bse skin on the back of my white iphone when first tried the solo fx and there was no staining. I later put on the bse skin with the solo fx in red. When I took the solo fx case off, the red had stained the bse. It's ok without the bse on my iphone..no staining..

After reading the reviews of the iskin solo case I went ahead and bought one along with the holster that it slides into.

I have to say that I really like the case. I thought about going caseless since the case does add some bulk but I really like the non-slip surface of the case. I can easily place it on my dashboard and other areas without the fear of it moving around like a bar of soap. Also since it is in a case, I have no fear of sitting it down on any surface like the road if I need to. Many times I will set it face down on a table (to keep dust off the screen) and don't have to worry about the touchscreen making direct contact with the table.

Love it!

I have the Gel Case purchased at the At&T store and have one minor gripe: as a man I keep my iphone in my pocket (as opposed to the ladies who have purses) and find that the gel case continually slips off, just a little, on a regular basis when I take my phone in and out of my pocket. I often only have to adjust a small corner, but this shouldn't happen.

I'm looking into the iskin solo and have heard good things about it, but whatever case I invest in I want to be sure from other users that it does not slip off, even slightly. What experience have users had with this issue?

Thanks for any input

Yeah it can get a little smudgy. It's more rubberized than the Iphone which is probably why the smudges are harder to clean. I usually just breath on it and wipe it with my shirt.

I hope the green Solo fx doesn't stain as bad as the red one on the BSE skins... I was planning on installing a Simple Back on a white iPhone. Oh well, maybe it won't bother me much any way.

Good luck with that. I'm pretty sure the red one does stain on a BSE skin.

I just got my black Solo off eBay for 21 bucks shipped. Out of the 7 or 8 cases I have tried, this is the best. The fit is great and the glossy black looks awesome. The case adds very little bulk and just enough grip to the phone. My most recent case before switching was the speck candyshell (which I liked). However, I wish Speck would make it in normal colors and more scratch resistant.

You can definately see them but it's not that bad and they seem to wipe off pretty easily. Worth the trade off for the glossy finish in my opinion.

I can answer the last question - it doesn't stick at all. Not even a lint grabber.

Hi there,

I know using this case with screen protectors has been discussed, but can anyone give me any definitive advise on this? I'm looking to get the solo fx and combining that with the crystal power support screen protector, but I need to know if the case will disturb the protector at all? Any ideas.

Also, trying to decide between purple and blue. Can anyone confirm that in person the case looks the same kind of caribbean blue that it appears to be on the site? I've seen reviews on youtube where the case looks much darker.

my opinion of the iskin solo is probably one of the minority opinions among the mostly satisfied users on this forum, but I returned my black iskin solo for 2 reasons:

1) my black one was a grease/fingerprint/smudge magnet that would look nasty after a while if I didn't constantly wipe it off, and I'm one of those people who like to put a case on a phone and forget it and let it do its job. Other colors will probably not show as much so they're often better choices.

2) It doesn't really attract to pockets so that wasn't an issue, but since it was always in my pockets, dust would accumulate around the edges on the screen and look kinda nasty after a while. This also required maintenance and I was not pleased. The material is good enough that all in all, it won't attract dust on the body itself, but it was tacky enough to attract it around the edges of the screen and it became gross. I feared also that this could potentially cause scratches on the bezel if I didn't clean it out every so often.

I thought it was a good case and a great idea in terms of the material used, but it wasn't for me.

I agree that the iSkin Solo collects dust in the corners of the screen (I don't use a screen protector). But I'm okay with taking the iPhone out of the case and wiping down both the phone and the case every few days.

I got rid of the Solo because it got to smudgy. I then got a Solo FX, which doesn't have this issue. However, I got one of the clear knock-offs from ebay and I'm using that one now. A little less quality than the FX, in the form of a couple of air bubbles, but I really like the clear one on my white phone.

I think the dust gathering in the corners is due in part to the new screen coating on the 3GS, which isn't a problem now that I have an anti-glare protector on. I've used both the PS and SGP ones and don't have the dust issue anymore.

I didn't have the best of luck with this. However, I think I am in the minority here. For me, the screen protector was getting constantly pulled up along the sides. Now that I have a full front and back bodyguards on, however, it isn't an issue anymore.

My guess is that minor nuances in the overlap on the side can cause some cases issues with protectors. But since it isn't a major complained about issue its definitely worth a shot.

How is the camera hole wayyyyyy better? It's perfectly centered around my camera with my Iskin solo, the headphone jack is larger to accomodate for bigger headphone jacks.

I don't doubt that the knock off is a great case, but after checking one out at a local mall kiosk there is no way that it's a better case. It feels a little cheaper if anything, but still worth the savings.

Well it looks like I jumped the gun. Though this is a nice looking/feeling case it scratched the bezel on my phone. The scratches aren't as deep as the ones I got on my 3g with the slider but they are definately there. I notice they are especially worse on the bottom were the part of the case that overs the bezel is a little more loose than the rest of the case. It bugs me because I take the case off every other day to clean it and the phone. I guess any case has the potential to scratch. I'm trying to decide to keep using a case for drop protection or just go naked.

This is why. If you take the case on and off, you stretch it. If you had left it on and left it alone, the case would still be fitting tightly and likely, you would have no scratching.

Sometimes, fussing too much causes the problem. I warn my customers to NOT take the case on and off because this is what happens.

The case is still as snug as it was the first day I put it on. I think that any case can cause scratches. Debris gets under the case and rests beween the bezel and case. I would like to see apple lose the chrome bezel.

No watermarking, the clear is matte on in the inside so it doesn't stick to the phone creating that watermark effect.

I probably should have put a skin on first place. I put some clear tape on the bezel and put the case back on. It still fits perfect and I think the tape should prevent further scratching. I still believe that this case great but it should come with some kind of clear bezel protector/sticker type thing. I'd rather it come with something like that instead of a screen protector.

Yeah, I am absolutely in love with the purple, its gorgeous. It also isn't a feminine purple. One reason I like purple is because it is "pretty" without being "prissy" but sometimes if its too light it kind of ruins it. Not so with this color.

Yeah, it would appear yours is cut a bit different.

Question: What does the cutout for the headphone jack look like? Is it oblong and off center?

Also, I may have missed it, but where did you order the clear from?

EDIT: Also, just saw your other question. It pretty much just straight-up purple. In intense light is can look a little bluish, but not much.

Ain't nothing like the real thing. ;)

In all seriousness I just don't like the faded look of those knock offs, the Iskins are expensive, but they look much nicer. Not to mention my Solo has been taken on and off numerous times over 6 months and still has it's original shape, I wonder how these cheap cases will hold up. Also they make the headphone jack hole on the solo larger to fit all types of headphones so you don't have to file away your headphone plug.

I've received my 'eBay' version as well in black color. My only gripe with it is that the hole for the headphone jack is a tab small, I can't fit my Creative EP-630 all the way down. But with a little sanding, it's not accessible. Overall, I say get it if you're broke. Highly recommended.

I really likes these cases, what is great about this thread is we are seeing the true colors of each one. My biggest beef is that the colors on the iskin website are SO bright and not a true representation. Any case that has a color and is of a transparent material needs to be shown in white and black.

I might have to pick up another.

I wouldn't say the knockoffs are going to be the same color, to me they use more of the fading/shading on the back which cuts down the clarity. Still for $5 that are very worth it.

Sorry about that but I've ditched the knock-off case. Like someone else in this thread mentioned the cut out at the bottom does not cover the bezel like the real Solos, so after only a week I was getting some scratches on the exposed bezel part at the bottom. So I put my iSkin Solo FX blue back on. I really wish iSkin would make a clear version.

I had the regular Solo blue (have since sold it). It's definitely a very dark blue that in some lights looks like a dark purple. It just showed too many fingerprints and dust on it because of the dark color which is why I went with a Solo FX

Like someone else in this thread mentioned the cut out at the bottom does not cover the bezel like the real Solos, so after only a week I was getting some scratches on the exposed bezel part at the bottom. So I put my iSkin Solo FX blue back on. I really wish iSkin would make a clear version.

They do, you just have to buy it with a silly clip. I have a clear on the way and will post pics when I get it.

Here is a video of the clear, only the lady put it on all wonky and crooked.

The headphone is slightly larger on one side so it is oval around the jack.

I got the clear one from another forum member, it is sold with a clip combo called the Iskin Solo Duet. I don't think Iskin makes it anymore but you can still find it online.

Anyone who has this case is the Solo blue color (not the FX) can you take a picture? I am hearing it is not the color shown in the product pictures, which to me looks purplish.

I'm thinking about bringing them into the store but want to see this one first before I buy.

Also, the clear/revo clip combo (the Duet) is still available, I can get it in if people think it would be popular.

Hi I'm interested in the Duet. Ferris23 when you bought it from dannyar was there a special thread for this or something? Can you post a link or how to contact him? If not feelthefire you said you could get it in? You can count me in for one if you do get them. I live in Canada so hopefully that isn't a problem.
Also I am obviously new to this forum, is there are way to PM people or do you need a certain amount of posts or something?
Thanks

They do, and you have to buy it with the revo clip, but it's the same price as the standard one. I am thinking about ordering some into the store, they sell for $29.99.

Canada is fine. You do need a minimum number of posts to send a PM, but I can PM you. If at least 5 people want them I will order them and they will be here next week.

The solo is not TECHNICALLY perfectly clear. It has kind of a muted woven pattern to it, and I have cases that are identical in materials to the iSkin solo available in my store if you don't mind the texture. The reason I don't have the solo already is because I like the cases I do have in the same material better, and I find their price point to be better, and no need to buy the clip!

Mods, I'm not trying to advertise, just offer members a way to get this particular combination which is apparently rare. Let me know if that's not OK.

To be honest I forgot how I found Dannyar selling that clear case, but it was on another forum even though he is a member here as well.

Here is the forum I found him on, I think I was doing a google for a clear Solo or something.

I know Ebay has them as do some e-tailers, just not sure if they ship to Canada. The guy working on it for you seems like the best bet, I'm sure the mods won't mind what he posted, they shouldn't anyway.

Shipping to CAN is $5 I'm pretty sure. I'd have to check my postal system.

The handwoven, hex, diamond are all the same material. The diamond is very very similar to the clear iSkin solo. I can take pictures of one on a white phone tonight.

Also if I still want the Duet and you don't get enough people who want it, I was looking on eBay and they seem to be to be selling it for around the same price you are (if not a bit cheaper by a couple of bucks haha). So I should technically be fine. But I would probably rather buy it from someone I have actually had a conversation with about the product I am buying :)

The Iskin is the closest thing I have seen to clear, while it does have a design it is far less noticeable than the diamond pattern on the off brand clear.

Not to mention a totally clear rubber case would leave nasty water marks

You could try shades cases, they make a clear, but they also watermark badly..

For the record, the clear diamond case shown isn't an "off brand", the case is by More. and the material it is made of is patented and the design is trademarked.

And yes, the issue with truly clear polymer cases is watermarking.

There will always be similar cases on ebay. But just like the dealsniper sportiva and the switcheasy rebel, they look the same but really aren't.

But I wouldn't sell anything, and certainly not at the prices I do, if I didn't think it was quality :) Not trying to be antagonistic, but I constantly do battle with "but the ebay case looks the same!"

Solo FX now in Apple Stores! Well, at least the one that's close to me (in Canada).

I just picked up a red one....I was originally going to get a Speck Candyshell but noticed that they had the Solo FX too. Apparently, they just came in (they're not listed on the website yet).

The only color available was red, but that's fine with me because it's the one that I wanted. :D

Apart from Apple stores, they are also available in Rogers Plus stores at a slightly cheaper price. At the Rogers Plus Store in downtown Montreal they had the Red, Green and Orange Solo FX at a price of $29.95 if I recall correctly.

Yea, I checked the one out in downtown Vancouver...they only had red for the normal Solo (non-FX) at the same price.

They had green in the FX version, but it was at the same price as Apple was selling the red one....$35.

I probably could have gotten one off of ebay for less, but then I'd have to wait at least 2 weeks for it to pass customs (I ordered a Switcheasy Colors case on June 23rd and it still isn't here )

I had a look at the clear case that comes with the revo clip and i dont think i like the woven/diamond pattern that it has.

I do believe its possible to get a clear looking case as long as it has the lightly frosted coating on the inside. As it is the solo does not create watermarks, and that has not texture to it at all.

The diamond pattern makes the phone look fatter or 3d from the back that turns me off.

Where did you see it, I didn't notice from the videos that it made the phone look bigger, the pattern looked rather subtle actually. Guess I will know soon.

The one above is a bit much, it looks a little too bubbly, someone needs to make a clear one with no patterns.

I only saw it in a number of youtube vids i found last night. I agree it seems more subtle then the other ones i have seen but i'd still like it with no design too.

I'm not the type of guy to rock a purple case but that back of the solo fx on in this thread looks really dark and the apple logo comes right through nicely. Nice enough i may rock a purple case :)

Some type of dark black transparent tone would be best i think, true clear would have watermarks, so it would require sometype of coating. inside the solo now had a coating but on a clear case it appears more gray then black.

I'm going to hunt on eBay for something as clear as possible.

when I ship, I try to ship USPS first class, which in the continental US is usually 2-3 days delivery. Best combination of cost and speed for lightweight items like the cases I sell.

However, if someone ships a package UPS it can take a week, despite being an "expedited" service. I finally decided to cut my losses, lower my shipping rates, and just ship USPS.

I always ship things USPS priority, it costs as much as UPS and it much faster. When UPS says 7 days then you can bet it's going to be 7 days.

to me it looks something like this, the pattern is subtle but I still thinks it makes the black phone look gray.

I put on my red Solo FX last night...

It took a while to massage the thing into place so everything lined up correctly...the holes for the camera and silence switch are still a tiny bit off, but it's good enough for now...

But I must say, the screen protector they include is HORRIBLE! It looked good at first because of the mirror effect, but it's so hard to get rid of the grease and fingerprints! And it makes the screen hard to see when you're outdoors.

Are the Switcheasy protectors good quality? Or should I just buy the PS crystals/anti-glares?

The handwoven clear is a really nice color, actually. A nice frosted white, with the clear overlay so it's an interesting effect.

I have the same case in stock in my store (I am the authorized reseller for More in the USA).

The ultraclear version is only available for the iPod touch right now.

The only slight issue I've started to notice with my Solo FX ebay knock-off is that the small strip of rubber at the bottom (in the front, between the button and the plug) is beginning to stretch a little bit. I think it's from sliding the phone in/out of my pocket. It's not too bad... but it's just not tight against the phone like it used to be. The rest of the case is holding up well, though.

Is anyone else experiencing this? What about the real iSkin version?

Who cares if you are a guy who wants to sport hot pink iphone case with crystals. Its up to you. No case is is made gender specific. Don't let immaturity on youtube sway you from getting something you want, and have enough pride in yourself to not care what others think.

Really?? I felt that strip on the knock off was thicker then the iskin. Ingeneral with either real or fake i make every effort not to grab or pull on the bottom. If i take it off or put back on i put the bottom on 1st. I have 2 solos and both after are a month look fantastic.
